We were delighted to welcome Rhys Cottrell to the Ducketts team back in March, joining our management accounts crew – and you’ll be seeing plenty of him.

With a background as a Financial Controller across multiple sectors, Rhys brings valuable experience and a calm head in fast-paced environments. His passion for management accounts led him to Ducketts, and we’re very glad it did.

We have thrown a few questions at him to get to know him better.

 
Why did you join Ducketts? 

While in my previous role, I discovered that the most enjoyable thing for me was producing management accounts. After quite a bit of thinking I decided that was the route I wanted to go down, and here I am.
 

What's the one thing you’ve always wanted to do?

Sky dive.
 
What's your favourite food?

Pizza.
 
What's your favourite film?

Not much of a film person but I do like Back to the future and Oppenheimer.
 
Favourite holiday destination?

Quite far apart in location and holiday type but I think I would say the Dominican Republic or the Scottish Highlands.
 
Who is your hero?

Both of my parents.
 
Who would you most like to swap places with for the day?

Let me have a think. No one springs to mind yet.
 
What's your passion outside of work?

Football.
 
What would your superpower be?

X-ray vision.
 
When you were young, what did you want to be when you were older?

A footballer.

Warren Buffet and the interpretation of financial statements (I don’t read much).

At some point in the next 3 years, I want to climb a mountain over 4k meters.
