How long have you worked with Ducketts?

It is just coming up to two months now. Apparently, I am part of the furniture already!

What’s your job title?

My job title is Management Accountant.

 

What was your previous role and how does it help you in your day-to-day job now?

My background is in manufacturing rather than practice accounts. I have worked in a few different areas of finance such as accounts payable, costings and management accounts. I feel it helps me connect with clients and build relationships with their finance teams as I used to be in their shoes and understand a lot of their day-to-day constraints and challenges.

Where do you feel you make the biggest contribution at Ducketts?

Tea and coffee making skills?! Probably not… I am quick to learn my way around any accounting software or system and I am very process-driven (which is why I will be adding Internal Auditor to my job title soon too I think).

 

When you were young, what did you want to be when you were older?

My mother always used to say when I was young that I would end up in accounts, but I always fancied something more exotic like a scuba-diving instructor or a flight attendant! What’s the saying though… parents are always right.

Favourite holiday destination?

I have been to Las Vegas twice already in my lifetime and I would definitely go again. It is just such a fun place, with very ‘over the top’ hotels and cracking buffet breakfasts.
